A Brief Overview of the Audionexx 202/402 Behind-The-Ear (BTE) Hearing Aid

Audionexx 202/402 Behind-The-Ear (BTE) Hearing Aid

In this post I’ll give you a very brief overview of the Audionexx 202 hearing aids.
These hearing aids are OTC hearing amplifiers, which means they’re pre-programmed for mild to medium high-frequency hearing loss.
Fortunately this kind of hearing loss is the most common one, therefore it is helpful for most hearing impaired.
Although I won’t go into detail today, you can see a brief overview in the video below.

The Audionexx 202/402 hearing aid is a Behind-The-Ear (BTE) style OTC hearing aid, which means that the main parts (microphones, amplifier, receiver and battery) are located behind the ear. The amplified sound goes through a small plastic tube (slim tube) into the ear.
A silicone ear piece (the dome) sits on the ear-side end of the slim tube for proper fit. Different ear dome styles and sizes (open/closed and small/medium/large) are enclosed for acoustical fine-tuning (I’ll make an extra post about the impacts of different ear domes soon).
If needed Audionexx ships different tube lengths on request.

Slim tube hearing aids have two major advantages over other hearing aid styles:
1. they keep the ear channel open which results in a very natural sound impression.
2. they’ really easy to clean.

In a nutshell

So what's next?

You might think “fine, but Dave didn’t lose one word about the sound and the technical specs I’m interested in” and you’re right. But don’t worry, I’ll go into that for you soon.
On the upcoming posts and videos you’ll get deeper insights into Audionexx hearing aids but I’ll also cover other brands like Phonak, ReSound or Signia. And of course you’ll get some tips on how to get the most out of your existing hearing aids as well.
